Fast interactive CFD evaluation of hemodynamics assisted by RBF mesh morphing and reduced order models: the case of aTAA modelling

International Journal of Interactive Design and Manufacturing

Figure from “Fast interactive CFD evaluation of hemodynamics assisted by RBF mesh morphing and reduced order models: the case of aTAA modelling”

Question

Can reduced-order models make aortic flow simulations fast enough for interactive use?

What the paper shows

A parametric shape built with mesh morphing feeds a reduced-order model of the flow field. The result is an inspection tool that shows, almost in real time, how changes in aneurysm shape modify the whole flow.
